Lee inspects Penang toilets, Kelantan cleanliness
Lee is concerned about cleanliness in Kelantan. New Straits Times:
On Lee’s visit, Nik Aziz said besides political issues, they also discussed cleanliness in the state.
“Lee told me that he was satisfied with the cleanliness level in the state especially in Kota Baru.
“He had read in local newspapers which stated that Kota Baru town is dirty.”
Furtive run-ins in the toilet in Penang. The Star:
SINGAPORE Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew and Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s first “meeting” actually took place in the washroom prior to their official meeting at Komtar, all Chinese dailies reported yesterday.
The encounter was a coincidence, Sin Chew daily said.
And a defensive reaction to Lee’s observations about Penang’s lack of infrastructure. The Star:
Singapore Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew had been too quick to judge Penang when he was there only for a day, said Gerakan deputy president Datuk Chang Ko Youn.
He was asked to comment on Lee’s view that the infrastructure in Penang was inferior compared to that in Ipoh and Seremban.
“I think it is too easy for him to pass judgement. You were just there for one day, how much do you know?” Chang added.
